The Office of Major Scholarship Advisement (OMSA) is the central coordinating office that provides information, advice, and support for students who wish to apply for nationally competitive major scholarships.

The OMSA scholarships are highly competitive, and usually require a minimum overall GPA of 3.75 or higher. In addition to academic excellence, each scholarship requires that applicants have an outstanding record of at least one of the following:

• service
• leadership
• research

If you believe that you have the potential to compete for one or more major scholarships, please complete these steps:

1. Visit the website – Before you proceed, it is important that you search the website and study the available opportunities to see which may potentially be a good fit.
2. Fill out the Application Form – You should fill out the Major Scholarship Application Form PDF prior to meeting with the director. Many of our information forms are in PDF format. If you have Adobe Acrobat installed, the file will open in your browser. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, log on to your my.ipfw to get a free copy of this software under the Information Technology tab.
3. Turn in the Application Form - For electronic applications, please save the file as your name, attach it to an e-mail, and send it to Laurie Bell at belll.ipfw.edu. For printed applications, please turn these in to Laurie Bell in Helmke Library 201C.
4. Schedule an Appointment – Interested in scheduling a Major Scholarship Advisement Appointment? (Cumulative GPA of 3.5 and Above Only)
