General Instructions for Working with Templates
Templates expedite the process of creating marketing materials for IPFW audiences.
Choose the software program most appropriate for your needs.
Included with each template are basic instructions that will help you work through the steps to completing your project. As you are creating your project, please refer to the IPFW Information Architecture Standards to check that your work meets the university branding system guidelines.
Access to Photos and Signatures
Each design requires you to place photos and your department signature. Photos and signatures may be accessed through the IPFW digital asset catalog, Vault. For access, follow these steps:
The Vault photo library is open to all members of the campus community and the general public. To access the Vault photo catalog, follow these steps:
- Go to ipfw.edu/vault in your Web browser.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click the Vault Photos button.
- When you are prompted for a username and password, leave username blank and enter the password MASTODONS.
- Click the Log In button.
Only IPFW faculty and staff can use the Vault IPFW Signatures catalog. To get the catalog password, contact the Help Desk by phone at 260-481-6030, via email at helpdesk@ipfw.edu (sent from your official ipfw.edu account), or by visiting them in Kettler 206.
Once you have the password, you can access the Vault Identity catalog by following these steps:
- Visit ipfw.edu/vault.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click the Vault IPFW Signatures button.
- When you are prompted for a username and password, leave username blank and enter the password you received from the Help Desk.
- Click the Log In button.
Printing your Project
You can print directly to your desktop printer or departmental copier from the template files; however, you must save your design files to PDF format to send them to IPFW Printing Services or to a commercial vendor.
At the request of IPFW Printing Services, if a printed proof is requested, sign off is required before full production of the print run proceeds. If a printed proof request is not made, Printing Services will proceed with full production of the print run without sending a proof. Note that if the right to receive a proof is waived and errors are discovered after the job is printed, you, as the customer, are responsible for the cost of a corrected reprint and subsequent fees. IPFW Printing Services is not responsible for any errors or issues related to work done off-campus.
For specific information on saving files for printing, please contact IPFW Printing Services.
