Myers/Briggs Type Indicator
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) measures psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. A career counselor will interpret the results from this test. An appointment is required with a career counselor before any career assessment can be purchased.
Strong Interest Inventory
The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) helps in making career decisions by identifying an individual's likes and dislikes. The assessment compares one's choices, analyzes them, and then makes a general summary of possible career choices based upon the individual's responses. This aids in planning career direction and choice.
The SII helps in the following ways:
- Decide which career path to take
- Help reach more fulfillment in your job
- Make a career move
- Decide which educational programs and training are necessary
- Work towards a wonderful retirement
- Incorporate business with pleasure
The SII contains 317 items that determine levels of interest in occupational institutions, professional activities, hobbies, leisure activities and diverse types of people. A printout of the results will be available.
Self-Directed Search
The Self-Directed Search (SDS) is an instrument designed to help organize information about an individual's interests and abilities. After completing the inventory, one will be able to see how his/her interests and abilities connect to occupations and fields of study.
A Career Counselor will determine whether the Self-Directed Search is an appropriate resource. The Self-Directed Search takes about 45-60 minutes to complete.
An appointment is required with a career counselor before any career assessment can be taken. The results of this assessment will be made available during the follow up appointment with the career counselor.
