Delta Sigma Pi

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity, and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote a close affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Dues for members are $65 per semester. To become a member, students must be pursuing a degree in business or OLS with a gpa of 2.0 or higher.  Members are expected to attend most, if not all, bi-weekly meetings and are encouraged to be involved in the professional, social, and community service activities.

    Blood Drive, Parkview Field Tour, Corporate Tours, other Professional, Community Service, and Social Events.

Iota Iota Iota (Triota)

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    1) Encourage and reward academic excellence in the field of Women's Studies. 2) Provide academic programs and extracurricular academic opportunities for IPFW students. 3) Offer opportunities for Triota members to be mentored by, and mentor others in the Women's Studies Program.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: 
    Voting membership shall be open to all students currently enrolled in at least 3 credit hours. No dues will be charged. No induction is required. Members maybe expelled from this organization for conduct unbecoming and for violations of the student code of conduct. A petition must be signed by 51% of voting members which will be submitted to the president. The president will coordinate and chair a open meeting in which a secret vote will be determined whether expulsion will happen. Expulsion will last the remainder of the academic year.

Lambda Alpha Theta

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To encourage and stimulate scholarship and research in Anthropology by recognizing and honoring superior achievement in the discipline among students, faculty, and others engaged in the study of anthropology.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations: 
    One time membership fee $25. Lifetime membership. Anthropology major, min of at least 12 credit hours in Anth completed. Junior or Senior. min GPA 3.0 cumulative and departmental.

Lambda Pi Eta

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies; stimulate interest in the field of communication; promote and encourage professional development among communication majors; provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication; Establish and maintain closer relationship between faculty and students; explore options for graduate education in communication studies

  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    3.0 cumulative GPA with 60 semester or 90 quarter credit hours completed. 3.25 GPA for communication studies courses with 12 semester or 18 quater credit hours completed. $35 one-time membership fee. Students are inducted in a ceremony whose script is established by the National Communication Association. Students must attend at least one activity/meeting per semester to remain active.

National Society of Leadership and Success

  • Purposes and Goals of Organization:
    A society to build leaders for a better world.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    To become a member of the Society, students must qualify for induction by attending three SNTs (Success Network Teams), three speaker events, and must maintaine a GPA of 2.7 or higher. A one-time life-time membership fee of $85 is the only dues the members are required to pay.

    other than main Society events (orientation, SNTs, Speakers, and Induction), there are several fund raising and information events.

Phi Eta Sigma-IPFW Chapter

  • Purposes and Goals of Organization:
    To honor students for academic achievement during their freshman year at IPFW.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Full-time undergraduates taking a normal course load leading to a bachelor's degree earning a 3.5 GPA during their first two terms, or first year at IPFW. Lifetime national dues are $20 and IPFW dues are $5. Induction occurs in the spring semester. Expulsion is for conduct unbecoming or violation of the Student Code.

Pi Mu Epsilon

  • Purposes and Goals of Organization:
    To recognize student achievement and to promote scholarly activity in the mathematical sciences.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Four core mathematics courses with a 4.0 GPA or the entire core and one additional course with a 3.25 GPA, and an overall 3.0 GPA. Lifetime membership is $20. Induction occurs in the spring semester. Expulsion is for conduct unbecoming or violation of the Student Code.

 Psi Chi

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To provide academic recognition to its' inductees by membership. To nurture the spark of that accomplishment by offering a climate congenial to members' creative development.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Complete 3 semester of college and 9 credits of psychology. Be a major or minor in psychology. 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.00 in psychology. High standards of personal behavior.

Sigma Alpha Iota

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To foster the development of music as well as promoting music within the sisterhood.

  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Prospective students must female, demonstrate a sincere interest in music, complete one or more semesters including one or more music courses, achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, meet the financial obligations, meet local member in training requirements, and pass the national requirements. Dues are $70 per year. Member training is 6-8 weeks, $250 at time of test, and $50 for pledging.

Sigma Gamma Epsilon

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    The Society of Sigma Gamma Epsilon was established to recognize scholarship and professionalism in the Earth Sciences. Objectives are the scholastic, scientific, and professional advancement of its members and the extension of relations of friendship and assistance among colleges and universities which are devoted to the advancement of Earth Sciences.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Any person in any branch of the Earth Sciences who has completed at least 10 semester hours or 15 quarter hours in Earth Science courses and has maintained a minimum of 3.0 GPA in all Earth Sciences courses together with an overall GPA of 2.67 in all college courses is qualified for membership. If you qualify and wish to apply, you need only inform any officer of your chapter who will propose you for membership at a regular meeting. A majority vote is required by the chapter members on your application to approve it. The vote is taken to assure that in the eyes of the members you have demonstrated your interest in the profession by participation in your department's activities. In the case of expulsion, proposal at a regular meeting and a majority vote by chapter members is required. Annual dues is $15.

Sigma Tau Delta: Alpha Sigma Delta Chapter

  • Purposes and Goals of Organization:
    To represent Sigma Tau Delta at IPFW by: fostering all aspects of the discipline of English; conferring distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies; exhibiting high standards of academic excellence; and serving society by fostering literacy.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Undergraduates must have completed at least 2 courses in English literature or language beyond the requirements of a freshman, have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in English and in general scholarship, and have completed at least 3 semesters of college coursework. Graduate members must be enrolled in an English graduate program, have completed six semesters of the equivalent in graduate coursework, and have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. International membership fees are $40 for a lifetime. Members must also attend a mandatory induction ceremony.

Tau Upsilon Alpha, Alpha Kappa Chapter (Human Services Honor Society)

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    1) Provide and refer members to service opportunities. 2) Promote the continued academic development of members through the dissemination of scholarship, grant, and graduate school information. 3) Encourage professional development of members through activities such as conducting research, conference and workshop attendance, workshop presentations, professional writing, and leadership on campus and in the community.

  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    1) Membership in this organization shall be open to all IPFW students who have been accepted into Tau Upsilon Alpha, Alpha Kappa Chapter. 2) 51% of membership must be currently enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization. 3) The minimum membership requirement is two members. 4) Members will comply with the IPFW Student Code. 5) Membership and participation shall be free from discrimination and harassment per the policies of the IPFW Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.

    Fundraising, membership drive, participation in campus events, marketing, outreach to Fort Wayne community.

Theta Tau

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members and to invite them into a strong bond of fraternal fellowship.

    Must be at least 18 years of age and pursuing a bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Sciences.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon

  • Purposes and Goals of Organization:
    The promotion of high scholarship in computer and information science, as well as promote interest and investigation in the fields.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    At current, membership is open to all IPFW students. Undergraduate students must be a CS ir IS major, having completed 45 or more credit hours of work with 15 credit hours in CS or IS. They must also have a 3.0 GPA or higher and rank in the upper third of eligible members. Graduate Students must be in ACS and must have completed 16 credits with the required GPA of 3.5 and a top third ranking. Dues for the first year are $60.

    Hold talks, set up coding competitions in area schools
