Pianist Ray Kilburn will perform a program centering around selected preludes for solo piano by Sergei Rachmaninov. Kilburn is Associate Professor of Piano at Ball State University.
Guest artist and chief musician Joshua Thomas, associate principal saxophone of the United States Coast Guard Band will join the ensembles for this spectacular final concert of the season! Works include Strauss’s beautiful Allerseelen from his Four Last Songs, Shostakovitch’s Folk Dances, and Donald Grantham’s Southern Harmony.
Music major Christopher Adamisin on trumpet will be featured performing Vladimir Kryukov's Concert-Poem for trumpet and orchestra. The orchestra will perform Symphony No. 8 in G by Antonin Dvorák.
The IPFW Multi-Media Ensemble will perform live electronic music using a wide variety of computer programs and electronic instruments, as well as live video and animation. Apple iPads serve as virtual instruments and controllers for this exciting concert.
