There are a limited number of PRF International Travel Grants available for 2012-2013. All tenured and tenure-track IPFW faculty, whether in an IU or Purdue mission department, are eligible to apply.
Travel must occur between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
These grants ($1,000.00) support a portion of travel costs for those Purdue University mission faculty who will have an active role (presenting a paper or serving as an official) at a recognized international meeting. Other research-related travel is not eligible for support under this program. Travel to Canada, Mexico, or Puerto Rico is considered domestic travel and is ineligible for support from this program.
Preference will be given to those who have already had participation confirmed, who have never received support from this program, or have not received support from this program within the three preceding fiscal years. Recipients must continue employment with IPFW in the fiscal year following (2013-2014).
To apply: download and fill out the required cover sheet. Include evidence, if available, that your paper has been accepted by the conference organizers for presentation. If such evidence is not available, an award may be made contingent upon receipt of confirmation of participation.

Exploration Traveling Fellowshop Grants (grants up to $2,500)

Faculty needing illustration services can submit requests online through the University Relations and Communication (URC) office at http://new.ipfw.edu/offices/urc/requests/
Projects will be evaluated for submission based on whether they fit the following criteria:
a. Supports research for scholarly activities only
b. Not a classroom aid
If there is a question of qualification, the request will be forwarded to RESP for approval or rejection; they will discuss the project with the requester, department chairs and deans and notify URC if it is to be accepted.
Projects requiring more than a couple of hours work will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis using more stringent criteria.
All awards are made based on funding availability.
After projects are submitted and approved, a representative from University Relations and Communications (URC) will provide a small list of illustrators to faculty for projection completion*, based on known project parameters and associated cost(s).
Faculty will be responsible for selecting the illustrator, reporting the final selection to RESP and managing the project through completion. RESP will administer compensation, faculty feedback, and necessary business operations. Illustrators will receive half of the project’s payment up-front and the other half upon project completion.
*URC will maintain a current list of illustrators with contact information and portfolios. A refined list of illustrators will be presented to faculty and RESP per project request, based on RESP approval and known requirements. Faculty feedback can also be added to illustrator profiles upon project completion, if/when available.
Illustrator questions can be directed to Tina Ostermeyer, University Relations and Communications Operations Manager; ostermet@ipfw.edu; 260-481-6428.
The Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) and the Office of Research, Engagement, and Sponsored Programs offer two Graduate Research Assistantships. The OGS Research Assistantship and the RESP Research Assistantship will be awarded competitively to graduate students who have demonstrated excellent potential for pursuing research.
