Guidelines for Hiring Caterers
IPFW Departments may use any licensed caterer to provide food service. Please review the Exclusive Rights tab above to avoid any potential contract violations with our campus vendors.
Follow these guidelines when hiring such caterers for private or public events. For further information or for events that are serving alcohol please go to Special Events for more details.
Caterers Providing Food on Campus for IPFW Private Events
Nothing will be required if this is a private event (IPFW faculty, staff and students, or specific guest list, not open to the public). For a Best Practice Procedure you may ask to see their last inspection report but it will not be required from Purdue's Radiological & Environmental Management (REM) Department.
Caterers Providing Food on Campus for Events Open to the Public
- Ask for a copy of their Retail Operations Permit.
- Ask for a copy of their last two inspection reports. If they have more than 3 critical problems we should not use them, or they need to show the inspection report where these critical problems were resolved. Inspection reports are good for one year.
Any questions please contact Jennifer Asbury of Purdue REM at jkasbury@purdue.edu, 765-494-1498
