The mission of the IPFW Connections program is to the support the lives of diverse students at IPFW through academic coaching, mentoring, and student success programming. Our goal is to assist students in their transition into campus life and provide them with a network to encourage academic and social exploration.
By participating in IPFW Connections you will develop develop a network of support on campus, learn about campus resources, develop financial aid literacy skills, develop a self awareness that leads to personal and academic success andmake progress toward yoru degree completion.
Academic Coaching
As a Connections student, you’ll receive intensive academic coaching throughout your first year. You will also work with other IPFW departments that provide academic support, including the Writing Center and the Center for Academic Support and Advancement (CASA).
Mentoring
Students and mentors will be matched into one of five groups, which will help you meet other new students from backgrounds similar to yours. You will meet individually with your mentor twice a month and attend social events for you and your fellow Connections members to help you become involved in the life of the campus.

Student Success
As a Connections student, you will take part in an ongoing series of workshops and other programs designed to help you develop the academic and social skills you need to succeed during the first year. You’ll also get help in deciding on a major, if you haven’t already chosen one, and begin planning a career path. You’ll also explore possibilities for studying in another country or taking part in a university exchange program.
