Proof of Financial Support
- Per the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), you must provide official documents to prove you have enough money to pay for your education and living expenses.
- We require a Certification of Financial Support and a current bank statement (dated within the past 6 months) on bank letterhead, with the name of the account holder and currency clearly indicated in English.
- IPFW provides a limited number of Chancellor's Merit Awards, which help lower the cost of attendance for international students, especially those with outstanding academic records and achievements. Please note that early applicants get priority consideration. Undergraduate student applicants will automatically be considered for awards based on academic achievement and English proficiency test scores. Graduate student applicants should contact their academic department for more information.

IPFW considers many factors when reviewing applications for admission from international applicants including:
Academic Achievement
- Your secondary and/or higher education records/achievements play a significant role in our admission decision making process. The better your secondary and/or higher education school records are, the better the chance that you will secure admission with IPFW.
- In order to secure admission at IPFW, you need to submit original documents, certified or attested copies showing good academic achievement in high school, college, or university. Most common credentials include transcripts/mark sheets (documents issued by high schools, colleges, or universities listing the courses taken with grades) or nationally accredited examinations [such as GCSE and "O" and "A" levels, Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) results, etc.].
- Transcripts submitted for admission become the property of IPFW and cannot be returned to you or sent to another college or university. Photocopied or scanned copies are not acceptable as official documents.
English Proficiency Tests
All international students whose native language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency. The most common way of demonstrating English proficiency is through standardized exams, such as:
