Background Check
Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) will conduct a confidential criminal background records check on all faculty, staff, limited-term-lecturer, and temporary employee hires as part of the employment process per the Purdue Background Check policy. Click here for policy details.
Reportable Outside Activity
Review the policy on Conflicts of Commitment and Reportable Outside Activities to determine when and what outside activities should be disclosed. Volunteer Policy
A new Purdue system-wide interim policy for Volunteers has been approved and is effective July 1, 2012. The provisions of the policy on Volunteers, Interim (VI.B.2), include registration of all volunteers with the department or unit in which they are volunteering and a screening of each volunteer against both the state and national sex and violent offender registries. IPFW Key Distribution Policy
The Campus Safety division within Physical Plant is responsible for the distribution and return of building/room keys to and from the campus community. It is important that individuals and departments take a more active role in maintaining the security of the facilities they have access to. Departments that authorize and issue keys to their staff and students are also responsible for making sure students and employees return their keys before leaving a department or university. Expectations and guidelines for departments and employees are outlined under the "IPFW Key Distribution Policy."
IPFW Social Media Use Policy
Students, staff, and faculty share their thoughts and expand their communities through all kinds of social media platforms and media outlets. This policy applies to all IPFW administrative units, academic departments, and university-sponsored organizations that operate social media outlets. It also applies to all IPFW faculty, staff, and student employees, as well as members of IPFW-affiliated organizations. Click here for full policy details.

At its March meeting the Executive Policy Review Group (EPRG) took action on two new system-wide policies.
**NEW POLICIES**
The following policies were recently issued and/or revised.
Grievances by Postdoctoral Researchers, Graduate Student Personnel, Clinical Residents and Clinical Interns (VI.D.2)
This policy exists to provide a fair and equitable formal process for Postdoctoral Researchers, Graduate Student Personnel, Clinical Residents and Clinical Interns to have their Grievances heard when concerns are unable to be resolved informally.
Vehicle Safety Inspections (IV.A.7)
The University’s primary concern is to maintain all University Vehicles in safe operating condition. Doing so promotes the safety of vehicle operators and the general public and reduces the risk of a University Vehicle causing or contributing to an accident or increasing the severity of an accident due to the condition of the vehicle.
** REVISED POLICY **
A revised policy on Delegation of the President's Authority (V.B.5) approved by the president and is effective as of March 22. This policy outlines the assignment of administrative responsibilities to those positions reporting directly to the President.
