Goals of the Recruitment and Selection Process

  • To attract highly qualified individuals to IPFW.
  • To provide an equal opportunity for potential candidates to apply for vacancies
  • To emphasize active recruitment of traditionally underrepresented groups, i.e. individuals with disabilities, minority group members, women, and veterans.
  • To systematically collect information about each applicant’s ability to meet the requirements of the advertised position.
  • To engage in hiring activities that will result in eliminating the underutilization of women and minorities in particular departments.
  • To select a candidate that will be successful in performing the tasks and meeting the responsibilities of the position.

Training Opportunities!

Effective February 1, 2012, the Office of Institutional Equity will review all new non-faculty positions, including clerical and service, for EEO compliance.  Transition to this streamlined process by attending a training session.  Each training will include an explanation of the process and provide an overview of the updated EEO forms as well as plenty of time to answer any questions.  Handouts can be provided at the training, if you RSVP in advance.  In addition, OIE will send subsequent emails with useful information to those who provide an email address. Plan to attend a one hour training session offered this month!
