Created in 1999, the Pacesetters is an active group of IPFW alumni who have chosen to demonstrate their pride in our university through generous financial support and by providing examples for other alumni to emulate. These Pacesetter alumni, many who determine much of their success has come from their educational training and college experience at IPFW, are proud to “set the pace and raise the bar” through their participation in upper-level educational philanthropy.
The Purpose and Benefits of the Pacesetter Program:
- To allow successful, dedicated alumni the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to IPFW by making a gift to the University of $1000 or more per calendar year. These gifts may be designated to unrestricted or restricted areas as the donor chooses. This recently revised giving structure allows our alumni to support “as needed” accounts, scholarships, specific departments and studies, or athletic programs of interest. Matching gifts from companies are acceptable and may be counted in the $1000 commitment.
- By becoming a Pacesetter, our alumni are automatically qualified for our major gift giving category, The Chancellor’s Society. In this important giving level, invitations to special events hosted by the chancellor, such as receptions for guest speakers from the Omnibus Lecture Series, give donors a wonderful opportunity to interact with well known personalities and experts.
- Provides opportunities for interaction with IPFW deans, faculty, staff and encourages Alumni donor camaraderie with many like minded supporters of the university.
- Pacesetters – Chancellor Society members are also invited to APPLAUSE, an annual, complimentary appreciation dinner held each fall. This dinner honors those who financially support IPFW at this $1,000 or greater level and help foster philanthropic efforts for our campus.
- Special Recognition in the “Honor Roll of Donors”, IPFW’s annual giving report publication. A listing of all Pacesetters names will be included.
Pacesetter Steering Committee
A select committee of Pacesetter donors will be asked to participate in a steering committee each year. As a basic criteria guideline, this committee will be comprised of, at the discretion and recommendation of the Development and Alumni Offices, or Chancellor’s area:
- alumni who have demonstrated long term support of IPFW (or recent graduates who potentially
wish to do so) through financial or active contributions.
- displayed service on past IPFW Alumni Boards or events; sense of a strong affinity with IPFW.
- recognized in the community for their business, social, or community achievements.
- would allow IPFW to assist them in the acknowledgement of their business and organizations
in several publications: IPFW Magazine, Honor Roll, Annual Fund letterhead, possibly others.
This Pacesetter committee would initially be made up of perhaps 14 to 16 individuals. Because companies and titles will be used on the IPFW Annual Fund letterhead – stationery, space is somewhat limited. The goal is to have representation on this committee of various diverse areas of business, organizations, or individuals.
Our alumni pacesetters make lead gifts to the IPFW Annual Fund, a fund used where the need is greatest and for scholarships. We invite all alumni to become pacesetters with their pledge to the annual fund.
We salute our IPFW Annual Fund Alumni Pacesetters and thank them for their generosity.
