The Office of the Dean of Students serves a number of functional areas, including the Student Assistance Program (SAP), Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), The Learning Community (TLC) childcare, and Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.
The Dean of Students office is responsible for upholding the IPFW Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct. What this means is there are a set of standards we expect the members of the IPFW community to uphold. If there are academic or behavioral violations of this code, you are entitled to due process. We want this to be educational, so the process is designed to help students learn about how their choices impact themselves and others.
The Office of the Dean of Students also works with the CARE Team, which is used to identify any students who are of concern. The students identified may be in crisis or may simply need to receive guidance to become successful here at IPFW.
The Dean of Student’s staff advise students about the student complaint process, grade appeals, late full withdrawals, and other concerns you may have about the university. We view the Dean of Students Office as a central hub for information so that you are able to get to your desired information in as few steps as possible.
