MAP Center Advising Program
The MAP Center Advising Program consists of Mandatory bi-monthly appointments of student-athletes with their respective athletic advisor with a signed contract stating academic/GPA goals for the term. Intrusive Advising is an intervention program designed to aid new student-athletes in making the transition to college. It is also required of all student-athletes with less than 2.5 term GPA. Student-athletes are required to meet with their assigned athletic advisor during the first week of the semester to set up ongoing appointments for the duration of the semester. Student-athletes are released from Intrusive Advising the next semester that their GPA is above 2.5. During these appointments issues within the classroom, study habits, and concerns will be addressed. For upper level student-athletes, appointments will be geared toward career focus and resume building in addition to classroom issues.
Every semester the MAP Center monitors Student-Athletes Academic progress by requesting grade updates for each student.
Please help us by submitting grades for Student-Athletes. (If you submit Mid-Term grades in Banner, we will enter those grades for you.)
Grades may be reported by faculty by logging in and filling out the form.
Login using the link below with your IPFW username and password. (The same login you use for myipfw.edu).
You will see ONLY the names of any Student-Athletes enrolled in your classes.
When possible we will update dropped classes, under Estimated Grade.
If you have a problem logging in, please contact the IT Services Helpdesk @ (260)481-6030.
Once you are in the program select: Instructor Report Click on each individual student.
After recording grades and comments, click on APPLY CHANGES to submit.
If your class grades are posted on Blackboard, there is now an option under Estimated Grade to designate Grade on Blackboard. (The students are responsible for printing out/reporting Blackboard grades to the MAP Ctr.)
For non 16 week classes: For classes that start later in the semester, the website will remain open, so you can submit grades after the class starts.
Your help in this important aspect of reporting the Student-Athletes’ academic progress is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
