Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT)'s Teaching Fellows are IPFW faculty who have received training in teaching consultation. They can provide a number of services or consulting activities - all grounded on a model of collegial, formative peer review - depending on the needs, goals and interests of the individual seeking the consultation. To help us understand where you are in your process, please check as many of the following consulting activities as you find of potential interest to you at this time:

Syllabus review

Review of other instructional materials (e.g., exams, activities, CATs)

Classroom observation(s)

Small Group Instructional Diagnostic (SGID) - A SGID is like a focus group conducted in your class by a CELT consultant

Analysis of student evaluation data (e.g., end-of-semester course evaluations; mid-semester evaluations)

Assessment of student learning

Most of the consulting activities noted above involve a minimum of three visits or conversations with a consultant. At this juncture, how much time might you want to invest in consultation to meet your instructional needs/goals?

The Purpose

We understand that individuals who are interested in CELT's Teaching Consultation Program want to improve, refine, and/or further develop their teaching in some way. Our purpose in providing peer consultation is to engage interested colleagues in a reflective process of formative review. In contrast, we do not conduct summative reviews, which serve to provide evaluation and documentation of one's teaching competence.

The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) provides one-on-one consulting support for integrating technology into your teaching, for learning to create and use instructional multimedia, and for enhancing the design and delivery of your courses. You may request a consultation by calling CELT at (260) 481-6354, by emailing CELT, or by completing the online request form below.

You will receive an immediate electronic acknowledgement that your request was received. A CELT staff member will contact you within 24 hours of your request. You will be contacted by 5 pm Monday if your request was made on a Friday. Thank you for contacting CELT.

The Blackboard Fellow will deliver one-on-one and small group assistance in building courses and learning to integrate new applications as they become available through Blackboard Learn. The Blackboard Fellow is located in CELT offices in Kettler 234. Phone 481-6309 or 481-6354.
