FORT WAYNE, Ind.—High-tech startup companies interested in taking part in the Interns for Indiana project face a March 6, 2013, deadline. Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is looking for companies to participate in the program that assists startups by matching them with high quality undergraduate student interns.
Companies accepted into the Interns for Indiana summer program are matched with juniors and seniors at IPFW and other Purdue campuses who work a minimum of 400 hours during the summer session, and who receive a stipend of $4,500 for successful participation.
Company requirements:
- High-tech start up
- For-profit
- Able to define and manage an appropriate and challenging internship experience
- Able to provide entrepreneurial experience through regular in-person interactions
- Able to contribute $2,000 membership fee
Student requirements:
- Purdue University juniors and seniors enrolled in first B.A. or B.S. degree program
- Any majors eligible
- Interested in entrepreneurship
- Minimum 2.8 GPA
The Interns for Indiana program is partially funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc. Companies are required to provide a $2,000 membership fee to help cover a portion of student and program costs.
