About Us

The UC2 logo.University Community Conversation (UC²) is a new community-focused program presented by IPFW’s College of Arts and Sciences (COAS). Each calendar year a UC² theme will be selected and a variety of events linked to that theme will occur. UC² events will feature a balance of university and community speakers and presenters.

The 2013 UC² theme is “The Nation.” The meaning and significance of the Nation are often taken for granted by most Americans, yet throughout history and around the world it is an idea fraught with controversy and conflict.

Throughout 2013, UC2 will explore the many interpretations of Nation, the history and evolution of the American nation, and the challenges of nationalism in an increasingly international world.

Looking at themes such as immigration, education, and history, and featuring speakers from IPFW, Fort Wayne, and across the United States, UC2’s 2013 programming will deepen our understanding of the past, present, and future of the Nation.
