Scholarship Criteria
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
How to Apply
Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to the following question:
What are your dreams for your future? When you look back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?

The AARP Foundation’s Women’s Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to women 40+ seeking new job skills, training, and educational opportunities to support themselves and their families, and improve their communities. The AARP Foundation Women’s Scholarship Program is available to eligible individuals with moderate and lower incomes and limited financial resources. The scholarship program is made possible by a generous donation from AARP to the AARP Foundation, the organization’s affiliated charity. The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program
This program helps the Financial Aid office meet the needs of full-time, undergraduate students whose financial aid packages fall short by $1,000 or more. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,800.
The Sallie Mae Fund First in My Family Scholarship Program
Developed in 2001 with the Hispanic College fund, this program provides scholarships to full-time, undergraduate Hispanic-Americans who are first in their families to attend college. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.
The Sallie Mae Fund American Dream Scholarship Program
Developed in partnership with the United Negro College Fund, this program awards scholarships to African-American students with demonstrated financial need. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.
The Sallie Mae 9/11 Education Fund
Created in response to the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 1, 2001, this program offers scholarships to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks. Scholarship awards are available up to $2,500 per applicant per school year.

The Grahame and Thelma Somerville Scholarship was established to fulfill the need for continued education for people classified as non-traditional students. The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) announces the LIFE Lessons scholarship program to benefit students who have suffered the death of a parent or guardian.

IPFW is one of a few select campuses administrating the Midwest Campus Compact Citizen-Scholar (M3C) Fellows Program. The M3C Program is a ten-state initiative, led by the Wisconsin Campus Compact that is committed to integrating education with civic engagment among campuses across the Midwest.
The M3C Fellows Program is an Americorps Education Award Program. Fellows must complete 300 hours of community service (some of which can be training), recruit 5 volunteers and complete an online seminar within one calendar year.
Community service may include mentoring youth, assisting in after school programs, qualifying work study assignments, designing and planting wildlife gardens, working at a recycling center, spending time with senior citizens, helping at food banks or a rescue mission, being a Big Brother/Big Sister.

The Fort Wayne ASIST Fund, established in 1994 by the Fort Wayne Chapter of Executive
Women International, is designed to provide scholarship assistance to students attending a

Upon acceptance to this program you would receive: free tuition for graduate work in newspaper journalism, an internship and the Post-Standard, $1100 monthly stipend, health insurance coverage, and moving expenses to Syracuse up to $1500, travel expenses up to $800, academic expenses up to $1000, and a one year full paid internship upon graduation.

Great Lakes Scholarship
Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc. is offering $2,500 scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students enrolling in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) programs. Up to 750 awards will be granted to qualified students from across the country.
