Financial Aid Programs

Student aid comes in several different forms, including grants, loans and scholarships.   Each have specific eligibility criteria, and it's important to understand the processes involved in applying for and receiving student aid.

Gift aid, such as grants and scholarships, does not require repayment.  Examples of gift aid include the Federal Pell Grant, and the state of Indiana Higher Education Award.   Gift aid is usually based on financial need, and not all students are eligible.

Self-Help Aid requires action on the part of the student.  Examples of self-help aid are Federal Work Study and student loans.   Federal Work Study allows students to earn a paycheck for working at approved on-campus or community related jobs.   Student loans require repayment once the student is no longer enrolled at least half time
