IPFW Chancellor's Scholarships

The Chancellor's scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman who meet specific criteria. No application is required, students who qualify will be notified by the IPFW Admissions office. 

There are three types of Chancellor's Scholarships:  Chancellor's Distinguished Scholarship, Chancellor's Scholarship and Chancellor's Merit Scholarship.  A student may only receive one type of Chancellor's Scholarship.

Chancellor's Distinguished Scholarship

Full tuition scholarship awarded annually and renewable each year up to four years, based on criteria listed below.

Criteria

Students must be:

A 2012 graduate of a state accredited high school who is admitted to IPFW and who will earn an Indiana Core 40 or Academic Honors Diploma (residents of other states will have followed a college preparatory high school curriculum), and who rank in the top 5 percent of their high school class and have SAT scores totaling 1950 or greater or an ACT composite of 29 or greater.

OR

A graduate of any school with an SAT of 2100 or an ACT of 32 or greater with writing.

No scholarship application is required.

Awards require full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours each semester) in Fall and Spring semesters, with no break in enrollment. This award may be used for summer school. For summer school only, the enrollment does not have to be full-time.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required for renewal at the conclusion of the first year of attendance only. Thereafter, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required. Grades for renewal are only checked at the end of spring semester each year.

Awards are limited to four years of enrollment, with no break in enrollment periods (students are not required to enroll in summer).

A student may only receive one type of Chancellor's Scholarship.

Not available to students currently or previously enrolled at IPFW.

Awards commence in Fall semester.

A recent graduate of any school with a 1950 SAT or an ACT of 29 or greater with writing,

OR

Were recently recognized as a valedictorian or salutatorian from a regionally or state-accredited high school.

No scholarship application is required.

Awards require full time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours each semester) in fall and spring semesters, with no break in enrollment. This award may be used for summer school. For summer only, the enrollment does not have to be full-time.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required for renewal. Grades for renewal are only checked at the end of spring semester each year.

Chancellor's Merit Award Scholarship

The Chancellor's Merit Award is intended to increase diversity in the IPFW student body. Awards are available for beginning IPFW students who are U.S. citizens classified as non-Indiana residents. Students receiving the awards may attend IPFW at in-state costs for tuition and fees. Awards may be available for beginning IPFW graduate students who are non-Indiana residents.

Criteria

Recipients must be beginning IPFW students who are classified as non-Indiana residents and who:

Are graduates of a state-accredited high school who rank in the top 25% of their class and earn an SAT score of at least 1650 or an ACT score of at least 24 with writing,

OR

Are graduates of any high school and earn an SAT score totaling 1800 or ACT composite of 27.

OR

Transfer from another regionally accredited college or university having completed 24 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0,

OR

Transfer from another regionally accredited college or university having completed 24 credit hours at more than one college with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at each institution attended. Transfer students with fewer than 24 credits completed will be evaluated on their high school record and test scores.
Note: Any credits must be earned at an accredited institution and must be transferable, university level work. Remedial course work and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses will not be counted toward either the hours transferred or the transfer GPA.  A college level English and Math course must have been completed with a grade of "C" or better.

An international student coming to IPFW as a beginning IPFW student, must have scored a minimum of 600 on the TOEFL if the test was paper-based, or a minimum of 87 if the TOEFL was internet-based, or a 7.0 on the IELTS. International students must also ask the IPFW Office of International Education to recommend them for scholarship consideration. 25 scholarships are available to international students.

Awards require full time enrollment in fall and spring semesters, (minimum of 12 credit hours each semester for undergraduate students, minimum of 9 credit hours each semester for graduate students) with no break in enrollment. This award may be used for summer school.

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for renewal. Grades for renewal are only checked at the end of spring semester each year. Awards are limited to four years of enrollment, with no break in enrollment periods.  (Students are not required to enroll in Summer classes.)

A student may only receive one type of Chancellor's Scholarship. 

Award may commence in fall or spring semester.
