Cooperative Education

Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Cooperative Education program provides students with employment opportunities while pursuing a degree. The focus of the program is to offer job experiences that utilize the skills and knowledge students are learning in the classroom.

• Each student employed through co-op reports to a supervisor at their work site.
• The faculty advisor from the student’s major department and a co-op representative visit the student and supervisor at the work site during the fall and spring semesters.

Students majoring in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS) have been active in this program for several years. OLS students have worked in a variety of functions. For example, recent co-ops have held positions in:

• Human Resources
• Purchasing
• Line Supervision
• Training
• Transportation Management
• Quality
