eNetworking Purpose and Principles
eNetworking is an asynchronous, primarily text-based and convenient mode of communication for connecting IPFW General Studies Program alumni to current students.
The goal of eNetworking is to foster a caring and supportive partnership for:
- Developing students’ vision for the future
- Developing active community partnerships
- Facilitating regular and consistent contact between partners
- Improving identification with the university
- A resource network including information, referral and support services from the General Studies’ staff and other IPFW personnel
- Guidelines for participants for getting the most out of the mentoring relationship
- A kick-off event to increase level of commitment
The monitoring process includes:
- Follow-up and evaluation
- A newsletter or other supportive mailings to participants
- Volunteer opportunities beyond eNetworking
