National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts
The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) exists to promote and improve the ceramic arts through education, research, artistic practice, and flexible programming. As a non-profit, educational organization, NCECA offers a variation of resources for members, schools, and organizations, including exhibitions, courses, and a variety of publications. National Art Education Association
The National Art Education Association (NAEA) was founded in 1947 in order to promote art education. NAEA stresses the importance of professional development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership and strives to encourage humanistic growth, aesthetic and quality performance in visual art. With over 22,000 art educators within NAEA, the organization offers lectures and demonstrations by renowned artists such as Christo, Sam Gilliam, Miriam Schapiro, Judy Chicago and Jesus Moroles. Members are also rewarded with local artists’ workshops, seminars and opportunities to observe art galleries and museums. Art Education Association of Indiana
The Art Education Association of Indiana (AEAI) is dedicated to the promotion, advancement and improvement of art education in Indiana. AEAI endeavors to increase public awareness for the arts, develop strategies for statewide advocacy, inform membership on current issues and political action, and recognize outstanding performance and programs. Their goals include uniting, supporting, and encouraging art educators, advocating the importance of art education, providing professional growth for art educators as well as collaborating with the arts and education community. Members of AEAI serve on task forces and committes, where they make policies that affect the national direction of art education. Southern Graphics Council
The Southern Graphics Council is a nonprofit membership organization endeavoring to advance the professional standing of artists who create prints, drawings, books and hand-made paper. The Council also aims to increase public appreciation of these arts. Members are invited to attend an annual conference that attracts international participation and encourages discussiion and exchange of both technical and critical information. The various awards, publications and exhibitions offered by the Council help to promote greater understanding, scholarship and enjoyment of prints, drawings, books, and hand-made paper. Art Students League
Based on campus, the Art Students League (ASL) aims to organize art-related events such as exhibits and open critiques; organize trips, lectures, and artist visits; and to unite art students and promote awareness of the arts within the university and community. ASL is open to all IPFW students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
Ceramics Club
To meet and share ceramic activities. These can include workshops, Pottery sale, Raku firing events, field trips, conferences, potluck, hosting professional artist and special projects.
Educators for Excellence
To offer support and information pertaining to the field. To foster a commitment to the local community schools and to the school of education. Members must be a currently enrolled student of IPFW, free from discrimination and harassment, enrolled in at least (3) credit hours through the School of Education. GPA of 2.5, Undergraduate dues $2.00. Meetings concerning gifted education, diversity, taskstream, student teaching, service project-supplies for schools.

The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF)
- A national theatre program that involves over 18,000 university students from across the nation. KCACTF exists to empower theatre departments and performers, improve theatre skills across the nation, and to recognize superior and diverse work. Over 600 universities are networked through KCACTF, allowing theatre departments and students from across the nation to showcase work and receive feedback. - An Indiana organization of community academic theatre.

The Student Theatre Organization (STO)
Geared toward exposing students to the different fields in theatre. They raise funds to help defer costs on trips and USITT. Throughout the year, STO holds various events in support of the IPFW Department of Theatre. Membership to STO is open to all IPFW students who want to be more involved in the theatre. There are no dues, meetings are mandatory and membership and participation is free from discrimination and harassment as per the policies of the IPFW Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct as stated in Part 1, Items 3 and 4. Purpose and Goals of Organization
To help students get/maintain a positive image of the theater. To raise funds through various enterprises to support performances projects scholarships, and other theatrical activities. Organize group trips.
Membership Requirements and Obligations
Membership is open to all IPFW students. There are no dues, meetings are mandatory with one absence allowed with prior notification. 51% of total membership must be currently enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university.

Theatre majors/minors kick off party, mentor/mentee program, study tables, theatre fund raisers, alumni relation.

The Camera Clique
Promote new & creative ideas with others of similar interest. To prepare, through continued education, creative styles of photography. To provide the opportunity to share new photographic experiences with others. No dues required. Voting membership open to all students currently enrolled in at least 3 credit hours at IPFW. Non-voting members- faculty, staff-alumni, non-ipfw students, or community members.
The VCD Society
Assist new students into the visual communications and design department and welcome community members into an educational forum and to encourage members toward gaining different perspectives through travel. Senior Project Seminar, Portfolio Review, Freshman Fest
Departmental Affiliations
The Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
NASM
Founded in 1924, is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities.It has approximately 610 accredited institutional members. NASM establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials. Institutional membership is gained only through the peer review process of accreditation. NASM provides information to potential students and parents, consultations, statistical information, professional development; and policy analysis.
AMTA
Founded in 1998, aims toward the progressive development of the therapeutic use of music in rehabilitation, special education, and community settings. Predecessors to the American Music Therapy Association included the National Association for Music Therapy founded in 1950 and the American Association for Music Therapy founded in 1971. AMTA is committed to the advancement of education, training, professional standards, credentials, and research in support of the music therapy profession.
The IndianaMusic Teachers Association (IMTA)
Has fostered the instruction, study and performance of music throughout the state for more than 120 years. IMTA is the state-level affiliate of Music Teachers National Association. The mission of this organization is to advance the value of music study and music making to society and to support the professionalism of music teachers.
Indiana Music Educators Association (IMEA)
The federated state unit of the Music Educators National Conference. IMEA’s mission is to support and advance music education in Indiana by representing the united interests of music educators and students and by providing professional leadership and service in music education to enhance the arts in the schools. IMEA functions as the federated state unit of the Music Educators National Conference.
Students Affiliations and Organizations
The professional organization serving the advancement of all aspects of music education from early childhood through university levels. The collegiate chapter is open to all students interested in entering the field of music education and includes membership in both state and national organizations. Activities have included sponsoring panel discussions and workshops on various aspects of music education and attending the annual IMEA convention.
Music Therapy Club
The Student Chapter of the American Music Therapy Association Students (AMTAS) is an organization for those interested in music therapy. Chapter activities include educational programs, attendance at music therapy conferences, fund raising activities, social gatherings, and service projects.
An International Music Honor Fraternity for women, which recognizes outstanding musical ability and productive musical work among women students in the college, university and conservatory music programs. SAI is committed to the task of upholding the highest ideals of a musical education and the further promotion of the development of music in America.
Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honorary Society
Induction into Pi Kappa Lambda is at the invitation of the music faculty in recognition of superior academic and musical achievement and is open only to juniors and seniors.
Music Educator's National Conference
Promote an affordance for students to have an opportunity for professional orientation and development while still in school and to promote an understanding of the basic truths and principals that underlie the role of music in human life and the philosophy and function of music education. Yearly local and national dues are for an academic year. Students are eligible for membership if interested in Music Education and if they are not employed full-time in the field of music education. National dues and local dues for an academic year: National dues for MENC collegiate membership are less than 1/3 the cost of a regular MENC membership, students become members by filling out a form that ask for mailing address and year in school as well as paying dues for the year. Annual "Walk for Music's Sake" fundraiser, possibly host a music educators' workshop.
Music Therapy Club
Purpose to spread community awareness of music therapy. All members must pay $5 a semester for membership. Relay for life, Valentines Day Music Grams, social events, meetings.
Symphonic Wind Ensemble
Inclusion of both music and non-music majors in an artistic and academic performance class dedicated to both the reservation of traditional music as well as the promotion of modern compositions. Students must be selected from open auditions adjudicated by the director of instrumental studies. Most enroll in the ensemble for credit. Students generally provide their own instrument, accessories and maintenance. Four concerts, a middle school invitational honor band, a high school invitational honor band, the IPFW honors convocation, IPFW commencement.
