2012

VCD alumna Libby Huffer (’09, photography) had been appointed to a full-time photography position at Sweetwater Sound, Inc.  Her body of work was awarded Best in Show at the Fall 2009 B.F.A. Exhibition adjudicated by Professor Daniel Pocock of Indiana Wesleyan University.

VCD alumna Monica Gerdeman ('11, photography) accepted a position as a staff writer for the Putnam County Sentinel in Ottawa, Ohio in 2012. Gerdeman’s position included photography, writing, graphic design and layout. The Putnam County Sentinel is a weekly award-winning newspaper recognized by the Ohio Newspaper Association as one of the best weekly publications in Ohio.

VCD alumna Karrine Williams ('11) published four photos with credits in the July, 2012 issue of Fort Wayne Glo magazine. Glo is a free woman's lifestyle magazine for the greater Fort Wayne area whose mission is to provide women fresh, local perspectives on health, family, beauty and living trends.

Alumna Kate Mall (VCD ’11), designer for Ad Lab in Fort Wayne, specializes in graphic design, Ad Lab produces ads for radio and television production, media placement, training and sales videos, marketing, public relations, printing, business-to-consumer and business-to-business advertising.

Megan Tiffany (’11, graphic design) recently was appointed as the new director of market development for MagniFi, a design build firm focusing exclusively on the visions of financial institutions throughout North America. Tiffany will manage all company marketing efforts such as market research, social media development, public relations, web management, and the design and development of new marketing materials. Most recently, she served as the internal graphic designer for Aptera Inc., located in Fort Wayne.

Monica Gerdeman (’11, photography) has accepted a full-time position as a marketing representative for Servpro of Lima, Ohio. Servpro is an industry leader in large loss response restoration for fire, water, and storm damage.

Karrine Williams (’11, photography) and Nate Hopkins are featured in a two-person show at Friedel’s Fine Art entitled Modern Day Pin-Ups. Their photographs are on display through May 17, 2012, at Friedel’s Fine Art, located at 1430 W. Main Street, Fort Wayne. Call 260-420-9197 for hours.

Katie Mall (’11, graphic design) has accepted a position as a graphic designer with Business People Magazine in Fort Wayne.

Karrine Moreno (’11 B.F.A. Photography) has landed the plum assignment as the photographer for Don Ayres Honda.  Moreno will photograph new vehicles that arrive on the lot for sale.  The gallery of photos will be online for customers to browse through their stock. 

2009

Eric Stine (B.F.A. ’02, graphic design), who lives in Indianapolis, won the $400 third prize in the Digital Visions: Computer Art Exhibition at Artlink in June 2008. The dog image was created digitally, but it resembles watercolor as if done by hand.
