“Bingo Sheet” is IPFW’s term for the document which outlines the sequence of classes required for a particular degree. Students are encouraged to download and use the bingo sheet as a means of keeping track of completed courses and to schedule classes. However, students still must meet with their advisor at least once per semester for academic advising, as well as to secure permission to enter classes that require departmental permission. The Bachelor of Music in Performance (B.M.)

The Bachelor of Music in performance (B.M.) offers excellent undergraduate preparation for the qualified student who is interested in a career as an orchestral musician, solo performer, studio teacher, and/or college teacher. All performance studies are taught by highly accomplished artist teachers.

The Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy (B.S.M.T.)

The Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy (B.S.M.T.) prepares students to enter private practice as music therapists or to assist health care professionals in a variety of settings by using music as a therapeutic tool. The only undergraduate music therapy degree program in a public university in Indiana, the music therapy program is housed in an on-site clinic and provides numerous opportunities for supervised work in health care facilities in and around Fort Wayne.

The Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.)

The Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) prepares the student to attain eligibility for teacher certification in order to teach in public schools. Graduates of this program are leaders in public school music education programs throughout Indiana and the Midwest.

The Bachelor of Science in Music and an Outside Field (B.S.)

The Bachelor of Science in Music and an Outside Field (B.S.) allows one to combine the study of music with intensive study in another field such as business, theatre, psychology, communications, or philosophy, music technology and others. A number of outside fields offer internship opportunities that allow the student to gain real-world work experience prior to graduation.

Minor in Music

Open to students in any major, the music minor requires 24 credit hours of music courses. The program allows sufficient flexibility so that each student can pursue his or her particular interests. Students may select ensembles, private music instruction, and other music courses to fulfill the requirements.
