John Hrehov, professor of painting and drawing in the department of Fine Arts at IPFW, received his Bachelors of Fine Art (B.F.A.) degree in Painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1981, and a Masters of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in Painting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1985. Prior to his time at IPFW John Hrehov taught at Judson College in Elgin, Illinios and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
John Hrehov has an active career as a painter and has had solo exhibitions in New York City, Chicago, and Louisville, KY. He is primarily represented by Denise Bibro Fine Art in New York City. His most recent solo exhibition as Denise Bibro was reviewed in the international periodical Art in America. He is the recipient of numerous awards including Best of Show, The American States Arts Competition, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gladys Emerson Cook Prize In the Area of Prints, Drawings, and Pastels, 167th Annual Exhibition, National Academy of Design, New York, New York. His work is in numerous collections including the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Lincoln National Corporation, and Lutheran Social Services of Indiana.
