Research Interest

Dr. Grant’s teaching and research interests focus on democracy and policy. Her new book, The New American Social Compact, looks at the expansion of civil, political, and social rights in the United States in the 21st century, along with the responsibilities citizens have to each other, future generations, other nations, and other species.

Dr. Grant serves as the Environmental Program Director for the BSPA. She is a member of the American Sociological Association, the American Society for Public Administration, the Urban Affairs Association, the American Public Health Association, and the American Association of University Professors.
