
Associate Dean
Dr. Kathleen A. Murphey is the Associate Dean and a Professor in the IPFW School of Education. Her primary teaching responsibilities include courses in the history, philosophy, and sociology of education. The history of urban schooling and the history of teachers and the teaching profession, as well as social issues in education, such as multicultural and equity issues, comprise her writing and research foci. She is the recipient of the Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching (FACET) Award in 1999 and the Emma Lou and Gayle Thornbrough Award from the Indiana Historical Society and the Indiana Magazine of History for the best article to appear in the IMH in 1998. She is a member of the faculty of the Indiana University Graduate School with Full status.
