As a result, the undergraduate business curriculum is designed around the principles of competitiveness, quality, and professionalism. Faculty members are dedicated to the development of business professionals who the knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to their organizations and community.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) accredits both our bachelor's and MBA programs. Only about 30 percent of business schools in the country have this accreditation and ours is the only program in northeast Indiana to have this distinction.
The two-year degree, Associate of Science in Business, is a pre-professional degree and helps prepare students for careers at the operational level of business. All credits earned in the business administration option can be applied toward the Bachelor of Science in Business for those who qualify for admission.
The four-year degree, Bachelor of Science in Business, offers five areas of majors: accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Students may complete more than one major if they wish. Students are not admitted directly into the bachelor's degree program. Students must first achieve junior level status and complete the 39 credit pre-business core with no less than a 2.3 GPA.
- Certificate in Small Business Management provides an individual with basic knowledge that will help with successfully running a small business.
- Certificate in Bank Managament provides local banking professionals as well as current undergraduate businessstudents with advanced training specific to the banking industry.
- Typically, students who pursue the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting (P.B.A.) are seeking an academic program that will help them prepare for a career in accounting. In combination with a bachelor's degree earned at an accredited university, the P.B.A. program will help students meet the necessary qualifications to sit for the Certified Public Accounting examination in Indiana. The number of credit hours required for the certificate varies depending on the student's undergraduate major.
