Department of Fine Arts Adjunct Faculty Patricia Weiss and Derek Decker both explore aspects of the intimate details of our everyday contemporary culture through their chosen mediums. Weiss is drawn to unusual forms and color when choosing her found objects for her subject matter. Decker is most interested in the context of the objects he finds to reproduce. The existing or imagined histories of each trompe l’oeil object, recreated through mold-making and slip-cast ceramic processes, is central to the idea of each work.
