Admissions

Home-schooled Students

Successful applicants from home schooling follow curriculum requirements of the Indiana Core 40 or Academic Honors Diploma. The Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Office of Admissions strongly encourages you to have a personal interview with the home-school specialist. Call Admissions to schedule an appointment, or use the Request for Information form.

Recommended Process

  1. Take the Scholastic Aptitude Test I or American College Testing test late in the junior year or early in the fall of the senior year.
  2. Format your home-school transcript as requested by the IPFW Admissions Office. Following these requirements can result in a transcript that can be used for any college or university to which you apply. If you used a home-school program that provides a transcript submit that transcript.
  3. Apply for admission when 6 semesters of grades and SAT I or ACT scores are available. Students may be admitted pending the senior year transcript or applications may be held until seventh-semester grades are submitted. Depending on quality indicators, applicants may be required to take the IPFW placement tests in English and mathematics as a part of the application process.

Home-school Transcripts

If you have not used a program or curricula which transcripts your student's educational record these guidelines may help you create the transcript.  If the home school program you used furnishes a transcript please submit it with the application for admission.
