Admissions Classifications
There are four classifications for current high school students or individuals who have graduated high school less than two years ago:
Note: If you have been out of high school for more than two years, you would be considered an Adult Admit.
Regular Admission to a Major
High School Class Rank
- General Admission - Class rank in the 100th to 50th percentile and cumulative G.P.A. greater than 2.8
Scholastic Aptitude Test I/American College Testing
- SAT I or ACT (with writing) scores are required for recent high school graduates.
- 1420 score on the SAT I (minimum score of 450 on each section);
- 20 score on the ACT (minimum score of 19 on each section)
- Engineering - a minimum score of 480 (verbal), 520 (math) on the SAT; or 21 (English), 23 (math) on the ACT
Academic Units
- Admission to majors except Engineering - Indiana Core 40, Academic Honors, or Technical Honors Diploma
- Engineering - chemistry and math through trigonometry
- Out of State Students - must complete a college prep curriculum
Pass Indiana End of Course Assessments
- Indiana applicants must have passed the End of Course Assessment (ECA) Exams
Admission to Major with Recommendations
High School Class Rank
- 49th-35th percentile of graduating class
Scholastic Aptitude Test I/American College Testing
- SAT I or ACT (with writing) scores are required for recent high school graduates.
- 1320 score on the SAT I (minimum score of 400 on each section);
- 18 score on the ACT (minimum score of 17 on each section)
Academic Units
- Indiana Core 40, Academic Honors, or Technical Honors Diploma
- Out of state students must complete a college prep curriculum
Pass Indiana End of Course Assessments
Indiana applicants must have passed the End of Course Assessment (ECA) Exams
Conditional Admission
Conditional Admission serves students who do not qualify for regular admission and who would benefit from the extra attention offered by Mastodon Advising Center (MAC). Professional advisors in MAC provide information and direction toward special programs, sound academic skills, and tutorial services.
Students admitted conditionally work closely with advisors to ensure that they reach their educational goals. Students in the program must report their academic progress to their advisors, who can help identify any support services that may be needed.

- 34th-20th percentile of graduating class
Scholastic Aptitude Test I/American College Testing
- SAT I or ACT (with writing) scores are required for recent high school graduates.
- 1120 on the SAT (minimum score of 380 on each section);
- 16 on the ACT (minimum score of 15 on each section)
Academic Units
- Indiana Core 40, Academic Honors, or Technical Honors Diploma
- Out of state students must complete a college prep curriculum
Pass Indiana End of Course Assessments
Indiana applicants must have passed the End of Course Assessment (ECA) Exams
IPFW-Ivy Tech Crossroads Program
Students not meeting the above requirements are denied admission but are recommended to the IPFW-Ivy Tech Crossroads Program.
